Two men have been rearrested under the United Kingdom's National Security Act in connection with an incident near RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, Counter Terrorism Policing has confirmed.
Details of the rearrests
The two suspects are a 24-year-old British national and a 25-year-old dual British-Iranian national. The rearrests are part of an active investigation into a suspected plot connected to activity reported around the RAF Fairford area.
Investigation status
Police described the probe as ongoing and complex. Laurence Taylor said the investigation is "hugely complex" and "very much a live investigation." Authorities have indicated they consider Iranian state involvement to be highly likely.
Background context
Police previously declared a major incident at the RAF Fairford area after suspicious vans were reported and petrol was found, though no explosives were discovered. Earlier activity in late September included arrests and evacuations near the airbase that now form part of the wider inquiry.
The investigation remains live and subject to further developments as counter-terrorism officials continue their work.
