Russell T Davies memoir lands today, reshaping the Doctor Who conversation as BBC seeks a new production partner
The Queerest of Folk, Russell T Davies’s memoir, is published in the United Kingdom today, October 8, 2026. An extract released in the run up to publication revisits the controversial final episodes of Davies’s Doctor Who era and explains why a planned 2026 Christmas special was abandoned. The book lands as the BBC runs an open tender for the show’s next producer, a process that will determine Doctor Who’s on‑screen future in 2028 and 2029.
