European Public Prosecutor’s Office names Netherlands a transit hub in large used mobile phone VAT scam
Investigators say a transnational criminal network channelled more than one million used phones through the Netherlands, repackaging them as new and abusing the EU margin VAT scheme, in an operation that has prompted raids and arrests across 19 countries.
